About The Bookstore at the University of Montana:
The UC Market is a nonprofit organization built on customer satisfaction and quality employees. We strive to make a difference in our community and the lives of our customers. If you request a product we will do our best to have it on the shelf as soon as possible. We pride ourselves on great customer service, great coffee, and offering as much product as we can fit in our little store nook.
Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services:
We recycle paper, cardboard, plastics, and aluminum. We also setup honey bear recycling. As we replace a new honey bear with an old one, we keep the cut top and put it on the new bear to be used. We recycle the new top and put it on the old bear so it's completely recycled back to the maker. We also, highly encourage using your own mug and offer a discount to those who do, whether it's for coffee, fountain drinks, tea or any other drink we offer.
We give all our coffee grounds and old fruit to the University Center Atrium gardeners to be used for composting. One of our amazing employees drives to Great Falls to recycle at least 30lbs of glass per week. Lastly, we are a coffee shop and snack center that does not take tips, but instead we donate to a different local charity each semester, donating hundreds or sometimes over a thousand dollars each time.
