Modwest hosts websites. That means we provide the computers and connectivity needed for our customers\' websites to be available on the internet, 24/7/365. We also provide email services for most of our customers. We started Modwest (or back then,"MissoulaWeb") in 2000 with little more than an obsession for customer service and some experience in the web hosting business. In 2002, we tripled in size through passionate customer referrals, developer-oriented hosting plans, and a few clever innovations. Today, we are proud to continue providing hosting for customers of all sizes and from all over the world. Some customers have asked us how we can offer so much for so little. Part of the reason is that our own talented developers and interface designers have built all the core software and customer tools for supporting our hosting operation. We leverage open-source software and tools (such as Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL), and build custom, computerized efficiencies into our systems and processes. In a competitive market like web hosting, great value and service is not an option - it's a necessity.

We have made sustainability a priority for years. Some of the things we do include: * put dimmers on light switches in our new office * recycle waste (including e-waste like old computers) * Many of our servers are after market purchases. * Use blade server technology to reduce resource consumption. * located downtown, close to all services * provide free bus passes to employees * offer bike lockers to employees * health benefits for all full-time employees * participate in Bike-Walk-Bus Week * accommodate employee telecommuting * flexible hours for staff * buy local, including local beers and homebrew in kegerator * use environmentally friendly cleaning products * provide multiple avenues for customers to communicate with Modwest & staff (chat, email, phone - no need to drive to us) * electronic invoicing
