Montana Hemp Council Missoula Montana

About Montana Hemp Council:
Montana Hemp Council is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting education and dispelling myths regarding industrial hemp. Missoula's Hempfest is the annual fundraiser for MHC. The primary purpose of the festival is to increase awareness of the many uses of industrial hemp as a viable economic resource and the alternatives available to us through healing, eating, building, thinking, and living. Approximately 3000-4000 people attend the one day event. A team of 4-6 core organizers coordinate Missoula Hempfest and along with the help of 30-50 volunteers, are successful in making it one of Missoula's most popular festivals! The 2009 Hempfest is Saturday, September 12th Noon-10:30PM at Caras Park.

Sustainable Practices, Products, & Services:
We believe industrial hemp offers a significant contribution toward solutions to many problems facing our environment, our economy and our health.

Awards & Achievements:
Due to the lobbying efforts of MHC, we successfully passed a resolution through the Montana State Legislature, Senate Joint Resolution 20 (SJ 20), calling on our Montana Congressional Delegation to be on the forefront of this issue on the federal level. It was an exciting, notable accomplishment with many opportunities to educate our elected officials on the virtues of hemp.
