License the Strive Towards Sustainability (STS) Assessment
& Eco Seal Program
A revolutionary tool for small- to mid-sized membership organizations, consulting firms and other groups dedicated to local living economies and the triple bottom line.
The perfect segue from "Buy Local" campaigns to "Buy Sustainable" efforts, the STS program helps businesses identify and transition to practices that increase organizational sustainability. The program also provides a guided standard about businesses’ behavior in nine categories of sustainability for increasingly eco-conscious consumers. The STS assessment and Eco-Seal program is a tangible response to questions about green-washing and helps a company to attain true market differentiation.
Help your members adopt new green business practices and legitimize their marketing by administering the STS workshops and follow-up process.
STS program participants develop sustainability skills by:
• Attending training workshops and lectures
• Receiving research assistance from your organization’s staff and/or interns
• Reading STS educational publications, and
• Networking with like-minded managers/owners
The STS program helps educate consumers by:
• Recognizing business achievements with an Eco-Seal level [see discussion on Greenpoints and seals below]
• Providing a quick reference about businesses’ activities by awarding badges among nine sustainability categories
• Describing specific accomplishments, in detail, on the member organization's website with a web summary of self-reported accomplishments
• Creating widespread awareness of sustainability through the use of the above marketing tools in the community
